But first, you may be wondering, what the hell is “Tiger Marmalade”? Back in college, a group of friends and I decided to band together and create a central site to store all of our separate websites. The name comes from the sound Raiden makes when he does that straight-ahead diving attack in the original Mortal Combat. He said something unintelligible, one of the crew heard it sounding like “tiger marmalaaaaade!,” and the name stuck.
